  • Sharjeel Memon released after investigation

    Pakistan Peoples Party leader Sharjeel Inam Memon has been released after brief detention in the wee hours of Sunday in Islamabad.

    National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials released former Sindh Information Minsister after checking his bail documents. He was released after two hours of detention.

    NAB officials arrested Sharjeel Memnon as he arrived at the Benazir International Airport from Dubai where he lived in self-exile for over a year. He is allegedly involved in corruption worth billion of rupees.

    Memon was accompanied by provincial ministers Mukesh Chawla, Imdad Pitafi, Fayyaz Ali Butt and MPA Nawab Taimur Talpur when he was taken into custody by NAB officials and shifted to an unidentified place.

    Earlier, Imdad Pitafi had told the media that Memon had taken bail before arrest from Islamabad High Court and was scheduled to appear before the court on Monday.
