12th October is being observed today as Black Day to condemn toppling of a constitutionally elected government of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif by military dictator Pervez Musharraf in 1999.
It was on this day when Pervez Musharraf abrogated the constitution and arrested the elected Prime Minister who had come to power with two-thirds majority.
The dictator also victimized PML-N leaders and other political parties by initiating cases against them.
The day is being observed to highlight role of democracy in resolving the national issues with consensus.
