Information Minister Pervez Rasheed on Sunday alleged that some elements are holding propaganda against government.

Addressing a ceremony of Union of Journalists in Faisalabad, Information Minister Pervez Rasheed on Sunday said government is committed to make the electoral process more reliable and transparent through reforms.

He said Parliamentary Committee has the representation of all parties and next elections will be held as per its recommendations.

The Minister said decisions should come through ballot paper instead of long march and violence activities.

Later, talking to media, Information Minister said a National Action Plan against terrorists is being implemented with coordinated efforts in the country.

He said there is significant decrease in terrorist attacks and the government is taking concrete steps over arrest of Indian state sponsored spy Kulbhushan Yadav.

Information Minister stated that those who talk about Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing s (RAW) agents being arrested from sugar mills never say anything regarding national interest as all such news are based on lies, adding that certain elements are busy doing propaganda against the government since they cannot see it progressing.

He said Indian High Commissioner was summoned at Foreign Office and strong protest lodged.

The Minister said international community has acknowledged efforts of the Government in combating terrorism.

Later on, while addressing the media in the Iqbal Stadium, he further added that sports will be promoted in Pakistan because of Sri Lankan blind cricket team’s visit to the country.
