  • POF should explore new markets for export of arms: COAS

    Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Shareef on Tuesday paid visit to Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) situated in Wahh cantt.

    According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) department, this is the Army Chief’s second important visit to the Ordinance Factory.

    He was briefed by Chairman POF Lieutenant General Umar Mahmood Hayat regarding the performance and the future plans of the industrial complex. COAS visited various areas of the factory and inaugurated the new ammunition plant of the factory.

    While addressing the management staff of the factory, General Raheel stated that POF is the first ordinance factory in the country which has played a crucial role in uplifting the fighting capabilities of the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

    He lauded the efforts of POF in fulfilling the ammunition requirement of the army during Operation Zarb-e-Azb further adding that buyers from other markets need to be attracted towards the excellent quality arms produced by the Factory.

    COAS stressed upon the need of upgrading the arms’ technology and self-sufficiency in this regards.
