Federal Minister for Water, Power and Defence Khawaja Asif on Monday acknowledged that energy crisis could not be resolved in the country until 2018.

According to the Minister of Water and Power, it wasn’t possible for the government to end the load-shedding crisis even in the year 2018. He made the revelation in a written reply submitted in the National Assembly today.

As per details, the Federal Minister’s reply in the National Assembly today exposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s announcements. Khawaja Asif said that no independent company was producing one hundred percent electricity.

Talking about load-shedding in general, Asif revealed that in urban and rural areas, load-shedding of eight hours daily was occurring. Whereas, in industrial areas there was no load-shedding, he said. In response to a question about tackling the menace of load-shedding by the year 2018, he said it didn’t seem possible that the government would be able to tackle the electricity crisis.
