    Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday has said that Pakistan is making sincere efforts to weed out extremism and restore peace in the region.

    He expressed these views in a meeting with British High Commissioner Philip Barton and foreign office minister Tobias Ellwood in the federal capital.

    Nisar urged the foreign powers to stop considering Muslims the reason behind terrorism and deliberate over solution instead. He said that success of Zarb-e-Azb is a testament of Pakistan’s practical efforts and determination.

    The meeting discussed matters of mutual importance including cooperation in different sectors and war on terror.

    The federal minister said that relations with Britain hold great importance for Pakistan. Despite numerous sacrifices in the war, the government’s resolve has not weakened, he added.

    British minister Tobias Martin appreciated efforts of the government and the people to root out terrorism. He vowed that Britain would continue Pakistan’s support for strengthening of institutions and restoration of peace.
