  • PTI wins vice-president seat

The Wah Cantonment Board elected PTI’s Amjad Kashmiri as its vice president on Wednesday.

Earlier, during the cantonment board elections, the PTI had won 6 seats while the PML-N had bagged 4 seats.  Mr Kashmiri said democracy had been restored after 18 years.

“For the last eighteen years, residents were not being heard by Cantt board authorities,” he said.

PTI Central Leader and MNA from Taxila Ghulam Sarwar Khan said Kashmiri is the only vice president elected from the PTI, in Punjab.

This, he said, is reflective of the party’s popularity in the area.

PTI MPA from Taxila Sadeeq Khan and MPA from Wah Cantt Tamoor Masood Akbar also termed it an historic day in the political history of the area and thanked the residents for supporting the party candidates.
