Lahore High Court on Friday dismissed petitions against appointment of Maryam Nawaz as chairperson of Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme
Government counsel informed the bench that Maryam Nawaz has resigned from the post so as petitions against the posting have become ineffective. The counsel also submitted a copy of the resignation in the court. A number of petitioners had challenged the appointment of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz as chairperson of the youth loan scheme.
The court while dismissing the petitions expressed hope that the Prime Minister will make the new appointment on the post in a transparent manner in view of the public money involved in the scheme.
