Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed Minister for Petroleum to immediately reach Karachi and take immediate steps to provide relief to the people regarding fuel prices.
He was talking to Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, who called on him in Islamabad today.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik and MNA Hamza Shehbaz were also present in the meeting.
The Prime Minister instructed Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik to reach Karachi and negotiate with oil refineries, and ensure steps aimed at reducing the prices of locally produced diesel.
The Prime Minister said most of the diesel is produced locally by oil refineries. The Petroleum Minister should personally complete negotiations with the refineries at the earliest to secure a reduction in prices.
The Prime Minister also directed provision of possible immediate relief to the consumers.
