Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to continue close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, and promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the wider Muslim world. The understanding was reached during meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baku today on the sidelines of the Victory Day Parade of Azerbaijan.
Chief of the Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was also present in the meeting.
The two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkiye and reaffirmed the resolve to further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister appreciated the enthusiastic celebrations of Pak-Türkiye Friendship Week which reflected the strength of the deep-rooted and enduring ties between the two nations.
He underscored Pakistan's commitment to transforming its longstanding fraternal ties with Türkiye into an expanded partnership encompassing political, defence, economic, trade, investment and people-to-people linkages.
In this regard, it was decided that a Ministerial delegation of Turkiye will visit Pakistan soon.
