  • Army well aware of its constitutional limits, says COAS

    Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir has stated that the military is well aware of its “constitutional limits” and wants others to hold the sanctity of the Constitution sacred.

    The chief of army staff (COAS) general Syed Asim Munir has addressed to the passing out parade of Pakistan air force in which he was being invited as a special chief guest.

    He stated that he is very well aware of the constitutional limits so it is expected from others to uphold the constitution as well. The military forces expect that the passing out batch will establish the best spirits towards the country.

    COAS said that in the article 19 of the constitution defines the limits of freedom of speech and expression of opinion. Those cannot point fingers at others who flout the clear restrictions on freedom of expression in the constitution.

    Asim Munir also said that amid the arms race is also likely to upset the balance of power in the region. He called the batch as the center of the country’s hopes, the guardian of the heavens and the guarantor of regional unity.

    He added that it is expected from the passing out batch that they will not give up for sacrificing for the country’s dignity, harmony and peace and it is also expected that they will lead a life characterized by virtues of character, courage and competence.
