Najaf Hameed, brother of ex-spymaster Faiz Hameed, was arrested after a Rawalpindi court rejected his bail plea in a bribery case on Monday, sources said.
The anti-graft officials took Hameed into custody and left for Chakwal following the court orders.
It is pertinent to mention that Hameed had secured a protective bail from the court after he was booked in a bribery case.
The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in April 2023, initiated an inquiry against Najaf Hameed for out of turn promotion and assets beyond means.
The anti-graft body wrote a letter to regional wrote a letter to deputy commissioner Rawalpindi and DC Chakwal requesting provision of record of land owned by Najaf Hameed.
On February 13, he was suspended from the post of Naib Tehsildar in Chakwal over alleged misconduct.
