    Repatriation of illegal foreigners including Afghans to their homeland continues amidst the crackdown against illegal immigrants.

    On Sundary, 592 families of illegal Afghan immigrants, overall 3,043 people returned to Afghanistan on 312 vehicles. So Far 2,20,398 illegal immigrants have returned to their home country.

    Thousands of unregistered Afghan citizens are returning to home through Torkham and Chaman border crossings daily.

    Transit camps for illegal foreigners have been established in various districts of KP and Baluchistan, which have all routine facilities.

    Police authorities have said that 732 illegal Afghan immigrants have been sent to Chaman border crossing from Karachi, since November 01.

    “Presently 45 Afghan nationals have been staying at Haji Camp holding centre of Karachi including women and children,” police officials said.

    “Malir Jail’s 150 foreign inmates will also be transferred to the holding centre today,” officials further said.

    “Afghan citizens, staying in holding centre, will be sent to Chaman border crossing today,” police officials added.

    The apex committee of the National Action Plan (NAP) in a meeting on October 3, chaired by Caretaker PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar gave a deadline to all foreign nationals living illegally in the country until October 31 to leave voluntarily or face deportation.

    After the expiry of the deadline, the caretaker government has swung into action against illegal immigrants.

    Mostly Afghan nationals staying in Pakistan as undocumented illegal immigrants.
