The interior ministry has constituted a Special Joint Investigation Team (SJIT) to probe the alleged smear campaign against the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Aamer Farooq.
In a notification, the interior ministry said: “In order to ascertain the facts behind the malicious social media campaign and trolling against the Chief Justice of the Honourable Islamabad High Court, a Special Joint Investigation Team, comprising Director Cyber Crime, FIA Islamabad, Representative of ISI (BS-19), Representative of IB (BS-19) and Representative of ICT police, has been constituted to probe the matter.”
“The SJIT shall submit a preliminary report to Ministry of Interior within a fortnight time,” the notification said adding that the FIA Headquarters shall provide secretarial support to the SJIT.
