In a statement issued by the Embassy of Russia in Islamabad, stated that, on June 24, 2023, the Russian Federation faced an attempted armed mutiny. Inflated ambitions and personal interests have led to treason against our country and our people.
It added that the Russian military leadership and armed forces remained loyal to the Constitution and valiantly performed their duty of protecting their land. The responsibility for the destiny of the Fatherland has brought our people together and played a decisive role in overcoming the challenge.
According to the statement, the entire Russian society, public organizations, religious groups and leading political parties expressed their strong support for the constitutional order. Leaders of many world countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Qatar and Iran, also showed their solidarity with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
It further added, that the President of the Republic of Belarus upon agreement with the President of Russia played a mediatory role in the peaceful resolution of the situation. The valuable personal contribution of the Belarusian leader once again reaffirmed a special nature of the Russia-Belarus alliance and demonstrated the unity of the two nations in safeguarding security and stability.
It is stated that the Russian Federation stands strong as ever and remains committed to its sovereign policy aimed at strengthening international security and establishing a just multipolar world order.
