The Supreme Court Review of Judgments and Order Act 2023 came into effect after the President Arif Alvi signed it. Under the new law, PML-N leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former PTI leader Jahangir Tareen will be able to file an appeal against disqualification.

Under the new law, there will be an appeal against the decisions under 184(3). Under the new law, the appeal will be heard by a bench larger than the bench that gave the decision.

The Supreme Court Review of Judgments and Order Act 2023 has been issued gazette notification. The new law was approved by the President on Friday.

The law changed before the judicial decision on the review petition against the election decision in Punjab. As soon as the hearing on the Election Commission's petition began, the Attorney General informed the Supreme Court that only a larger bench can hear this matter.

On which the Chief Justice adjourned the hearing and advised the government to avoid aggressiveness, saying that our mind is not to abolish any law, but the independence of the judiciary is our fundamental right.
