An anti-polio campaign in 23 districts across the three provinces begun on Monday (today).
The campaign launched in six districts of Balochistan, eight districts of Sindh, nine districts of Punjab and Islamabad. Meanwhile, a campaign targeting 12 high-risk districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be launched on Dec 5.
Moreover, the campaign will also be launched on 5th of next month in nine districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Over one hundred thousand trained workers will take part in the vaccination drive to inoculate the targeted children at their doorstep.
On this occasion, Minister for National Health Services Abdul Qadir Patel said Pakistan has made great strides in the fight against polio, with virus circulation reduced to only one small part of the country.
Coordinator of the National Emergency Operation Centre Dr. Shahzad Baig, said high-risk districts will be top priority during the anti-polio campaign.
