Seven labourers were brutally killed and one injured in an armed attack on a house in the Khudaabadan area of Panjgur, Balochistan, on Saturday.

All the victims hailed from Multan, Punjab, and were working on a house construction site when the incident took place.

According to the district administration, armed assailants entered the residence where the labourers were staying and opened indiscriminate fire.

The seven men were killed on the spot, while one, identified as Muhammad Ramzan, son of Allah Yar, was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities have attributed the attack to militants from the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), who are believed to be behind the heinous assault.

"The terrorists, haunted by their failures, have forgotten all values of humanity and morality by targeting innocent laborers who had traveled to remote areas for work," a security official stated.

Security forces cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to apprehend the attackers. "The state and security forces will thwart the ambitions of these anti-national elements funded by external sources," added the official.
