The Economic Coordination Committee of the federal cabinet approved Rs 1.75 billion special package for providing commodities to the people at lower than market rates during the holy fasting month of Ramzan.
The decision was made at the meeting of the ECC here chaired by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Under the package relief ranging from Rs 5 to Rs 50 on 22 essential items at Utility Stores.
According to sources the meeting was informed that on the special directive of the prime minister the provision of certain items at lower prices to the people which had begun on April 27 will continue in future.
During Ramzan the people will also be provided 10 percent relief on 1,000 items at the Utility Stores.
