Azhar Ali has returned to cricket after injury with remarkable century in Quaid-e-Azam super eight and proved his fitness. Now, his chance in National Team is certain for New Zealand tour.

Playing for SNGPL in first match of super-eight stage of country’s premier first class tournament, Azhar smashed 118 off 229 deliveries. His innings included 12 boundaries.

The innings, his 33rd First Class century, also completed 10,000 first class runs for the 32-year-old batsman from Lahore.

This was Azhar’s first match in competitive cricket since regaining fitness following a knee injury that kept him out of sport for around two months.

He went to UK for rehabilitation after complaining of knee pains during Test series against Sri Lanka. The injury forced him to miss the limited overs series against Sri Lanka and the national T20 tournament as well.

Azhar looked comfortable while batting and, seems now in line to return to Pakistan’s ODI team for the series against New Zealand next month.
