Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQMP) chief Dr Farooq Sattar has said on Sunday that a conspiracy that was hatched against him has been exposed.

Statement of Dr Sattar came nearly an hour after deputy conveners of MQMP and members of coordination committee addressed a press conference and announced to sack MQMP chief from the position of convener.

In reaction to deputy conveners’ action, Dr Sattar claimed that he was not de-seated but every loyal worker of the political party was symbolically de-seated today. He asserted that the issue turned out to be not of issuing tickets to candidates for Senate elections but of taking over the authority to issue tickets.

MQMP chief claimed that some party members took a step against the sacrifices and martyrdom of the workers of the organisation.

He took objection to the letter dispatched to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by dissenting members and accused them of cutting a deal over martyrs’ blood.

Dr Sattar said that a court of the party workers in General Workers’ meeting would now decide the fate of the organisation and the step taken today by some party leaders. He said that the dissenting members agreed a day ago that none of them wanted to become a convener and had no interest in party positions but acted in contradiction today.

MQMP chief claimed that he was the biggest hurdle for party members who worked for their personal gains and catered to own interests.

He denied having tabled any demands before Amir Khan-led faction and asserted that those were his recommendations.
