    Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah vowed to foil any and all designs to foil peace during the meeting of Apex Committee that he chaired here.

    The meeting attended by Governor Sindh Ishratul Ibad, Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, DG Rangers Sindh Major Gen Bilal Akbar, IG Police Sindh, provincial minister Nisar Khuhro, advisor Maula Bukhsh Chandio, and other high authorities including Murtaza Wahab decided to take the ongoing Karachi operation to its logical conclusion and not to let any political group to impose itself on the people forcefully.

    Sindh apex committee meeting is expected to discuss the law and order situation in Karachi and other parts of the province.

    DG Rangers, Maj. General Bilal Akbar and IG Sindh Police, AD Khawaja, will brief the meeting on overall security situation in the province whereas Chief Secretary Sindh will give details about the establishment of Anti-Terrorism Courts and appointment of the prosecutors.

    DG Rangers Maj Gen Bilal Akbar informed the participants that 848 target killers involved in 7,224 cases have been arrested since September 4, 2013.

    Out of the total number of target killers arrested, 654 suspects affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have confessed to being involved in 5,863 incidents of target killings.

    Speaking on the occasion DG Rangers said that stern action is being taken against those playing in the hands of anti-state powers. Rangers as a force will not tolerate even a whisper against the security of the country, he added.

    IG Police Sindh informed the participants of the meeting that a comprehensive plan over the challenges faced by media houses in Karachi has been prepared, that those involved in riots on August 22 are in custody and that the illegal offices built on amenity plots and government land have been demolished with the help of Rangers and the police.

    Talking to the participants of the meeting Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said that the targeted operation in Karachi will continue till the desired results are achieved and that no political group will be allowed to impose itself on the people forcefully or to extort money under the cover of welfare works. The political and military leadership are on the same page over restoration of peace in Karachi.

    Meanwhile, Advisor to CM for Law Murtaza Wahab briefed the apex committee that registration of religious seminaries will be renewed. All the madrassas will be bound to obtain NOCs from the Deputy Commissioner, District SP, Building Control Authority and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

    He said madrassas cannot collect zakat and fitra directly and registration forms will be issued by the Sindh Home Department.

    The apex committee also reached consensus over Sindh Maddaris Registration Bill 2016.
