In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred three more Kashmiri youth in Kupwara district, today.

The troops killed the youth during a siege and search operation at Magam in Handwara area of the district. The operation was going on when reports last came in.

With these fresh killings, the number of the youth martyred by Indian troops during last five days has reached eleven.

Instrument of accession invalid, unauthentic: Gilani

Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani has asked India to allow the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their right to self-determination, pledged by the then Indian rulers with Kashmiri people at international forums several decades ago.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “This is the moral responsibility of India to fulfill the commitment and allow us to live a peaceful life.”

The APHC Chairman expressed shock and grief over the report by Indian forces about the number of youth killed during the current year, saying that it was a big loss and a tragedy. Indian Army and police in a joint press conference on Sunday had revealed that a total of 190 youth were killed in Kashmir, this year.

“Authorities admit that they are carrying the occupation through their military might,” Syed Ali Gilani said, adding that India had waged a war on innocent civilians in occupied Kashmir.

Referring to the so-called Instrument of Accession allegedly signed by the then Maharaja Hari Singh, the APHC Chairman said it is neither a valid nor an authentic document. “As per the guidelines laid under the Independence and Partition Plan, the maharajas and kings had no right to exercise their will regarding the future course, or decide the political destiny of their domains or states,” he argued. “Only people had right to decide their destiny and future of their states,” he added.

“Therefore, there is no constitutional, legal, political or moral status of this so-called Instrument of Accession,” Syed Ali Gilani emphasized. He said, “Despite its tall claims and parroting about being a great democratic country, New Delhi is depriving over 15 million people of their birth right.

Meanwhile, the APHC Chairman paid tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs, saying that the youth while laying down their precious lives are nourishing a sacred cause with their blood. He appealed to the people to safeguard the sacrifices and stay away from those, who are strengthening the forced and illegal occupation. He also paid glorious tributes to Aali Kadal martyrs saying that Kashmiris were duty-bound to take the mission of their martyrs to its logical conclusion.
