The government has decided to start special PIA flights to Gilgit and Sakardu, to promote tourism in northern areas.
The decision was taken at a meeting between Advisor to Prime Minister on aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Dr. Kazim Niaz in Islamabad on Thursday.
It was decided that the airliner will offer special weekend and holiday packages to the tourists.
The PIA will collaborate with Tourism department in this regard.
