In a significant development, Sadia Danish, a prominent leader from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has been elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Assembly unopposed.

The election process witnessed the coalition parties submitting Sadia Danish's nomination papers, while no other member of the assembly stepped forward with their nomination papers within the designated time frame.

Sadia Danish's uncontested election paves the way for her to assume the esteemed position of Deputy Speaker in the GB Assembly. The official announcement of her election will take place during the upcoming assembly session, with the Election Commission expected to issue a formal notification in this regard.

It is worth noting that Nazir Advocate, the former Deputy Speaker, had previously been elected as the Speaker of the assembly. Following his election, Nazir Advocate promptly released a schedule outlining the election procedure for the Deputy Speaker position.

Sadia Danish's appointment as Deputy Speaker holds significant importance, as it not only recognizes her political prowess but also serves as a notable achievement for the Pakistan Peoples Party. Her role as Deputy Speaker will contribute to the legislative proceedings and decision-making processes within the GB Assembly.
