Husbands of two Hindu girls, who recently embraced Islam, Safdar and Barkat on Tuesday, have filed a plea in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), seeking protective bail.
The federal government has been made respondent in plea filed by Safdar and Barkat through Advocate Umair Baloch in the court.
The court was pleaded to pass an order to ensure security as we [Safdar, Barkat] are receiving dire threats in Ghotki, while the police was also threatening, the plea read.
Speaking to journalists outside the court, Safdar Ali said his wife Aasia (Raveena) was living in his neighbourhood and they were in contact with each other on the phone.
“Aasia showed her will to contract marriage with me”, Safdar said.
Earlier in the day, the IHC had handed over the custody of two Hindu sisters, who recently embraced Islam in Daharki, to the deputy commissioner Islamabad.
The two sisters had gone missing from Hafiz Salman village near Daharki few days back.
Later, a video clip surfaced in which they can be heard saying that neither had anyone abducted them nor held them hostage as they left their home out of their own will and embraced Islam without any duress.
