    The interior ministry, on the request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has approved red warrant against former finance minister Ishaq Dar to bring him back to Pakistan.

    According to the details the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), on the directives of Interior ministry, has contacted Interpol to bring the former finance minister Ishaq Dar back to Pakistan from London.

    FIA wrote a letter to Interpol seeking its assistance to arrest Ishaq Dar who is accused in many corruption cases and for owing assets beyond his means.
    FIA sent the reference to Interpol’s head office, situated in France. Dar’s arrest warrant, declaring him an absconder by the accountability court, assets details and other evidences were enclosed with the reference.

    Earlier, the interior ministry submitted a reply over Dar’s return to the Supreme Court and stated that the former finance minister will be brought back with help of Interpol.

    Furthermore, Justice Sardar Tariq asked the attorney general regarding the update on seizing Dar’s property. “What has been done pertaining to seizing Dar’s foreign property,” he questioned.

    “The request to seize property has been attached with the red warrant,” attorney general replied.
