    Pakistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to work together for regional peace and development. The understanding came at a meeting between President Mamnoon Hussain and his Sri Lankan counterpart Maithripala Sirisena in Islamabad today.

    The two sides discussed the entire gamut of bilateral relations. The two sides also agreed to further bolster their trade relations. During the meeting, they also agreed to make the SAARC more effective.

    In his remarks, President Mamnoon Hussain emphasized the need for greater people to people contacts between the two countries. The Sri Lankan President thanked the Pakistani side for awards cholarship to Srinlankan students and officers.
