Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has clarified that he has never used government helicopters for personal use.

In a twitter message, Khan said that the KP government has issued a clarification on the PTI chief’s personal usage of government resources. The statement said that since 2013, the PTI government has not used the helicopters for ‘any purpose other than official business of the government’.

Khan also added that the PTI welcomes National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s probing of the issue and said that he hopes Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari are also investigated.

On Friday, NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal took notice of Khan’s use of KP chief minister’s official helicopter for non-government visits. According to a press release issued by the NAB, the chairman ordered bureau’s provincial director general to conduct an inquiry.

“The PTI chief used the MI-17 helicopter for 22 hours and an aquarial helicopter for 52 hours” it added.
