  • Kulbhushan case: India to file plea in ICJ on September 13

    India is to file a petition defending her convicted spy Kulbhushan Jadhav in International Court of Justice on Wednesday (September 13). The international court had ordered India on June 13 to move a formal plea on September 13 and Pakistan was ordered to file a reply on December 13.

    Jadhav was sentenced to death by a military court of Pakistan in April 2017 after he confessed to covertly operating for research and Analysis wing of India to destabilize Pakistan.

    He was tried by a military court and according to the government and the army, the spy was provided with a counsel and a fair trial. However, India moved to the ICJ in May claiming the opposite and challenging the death sentence.
