Crew members of Punjab government’s helicopter, that crash-landed in Afghanistan last week, safely arrived back home.

According to sources, the crew, including five Pakistanis and a Russian pilot, landed in Islamabad today, adding that they could be briefly interrogated by Pakistani agencies.

All of them are hale and hearty, officials told.

They were held hostage after their Mi-17 transport helicopter, that was on way to Russia via Uzbekistan for maintenance, crashed in a Taliban-held Logar province of Afghanistan.

However, as a result of negotiations with Pakistan and Afghanistan governments, the Taliban freed all captives.
