Former president general (retd) Pervez Musharraf Thursday thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and the Supreme Court for considering his legal case and removing his name from ECL.

Talking to a private news channel, he rejected rumours regarding his departure abroad and said that his name was removed from Exit Control List (ECL) on the court order.

He said that he was staying in Dubai for a medical checkup and might travel to the United States of America for further treatment.

Musharraf denied the reports that an All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) meeting was held in Dubai saying he only met those who came to receive him at the airport. He was not doing any political activity in Dubai, he added.

He said that he had appeared in courts many times to face cases against him and he was not afraid to go there.

He also denied the reports that he would not return to Pakistan and said he loved his country. The decision about his return would be taken as per doctors’ advice, he added.
