    The Election Commission of Pakistan convened a meeting to address the allegations made by Commissioner Rawalpindi regarding rigging in the general elections.

    Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, along with Member Election Commission Punjab, Babar Hassan, participated in the online session.

    During the meeting, the accusations brought forth by Commissioner Rawalpindi were thoroughly discussed. As a resolution, it was decided to establish a committee, led by senior members of the Election Commission, to investigate the matter further.

    The committee’s primary task will involve obtaining statements from the district returning officers (DROs) and returning officers (ROs) in Rawalpindi.

    A comprehensive report will be compiled based on the committee’s findings and subsequently submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

    Following the submission of the report, a decision will be reached regarding the appropriate legal actions to be taken against Commissioner Rawalpindi, pending the verification or dismissal of the allegations.
