Sarah Khan, who recently expressed her desire to explore opportunities in Bollywood and has a special dream co-star in mind, has sung praises of Bollywood.

In an interview with PTI, the actor opened up about the massive fan following that Hindi cinema has, naming a few favourites along the way as well.

Speaking to the publication, the actor said, "For any actor, it is a big deal to work in another space so it will be great if I get to work in Bollywood. I would love to. I feel half of my audience is in India, and the other half is in Pakistan. Who is not a fan of Bollywood?" She added, "I really like Deepika Padukone. And when I began my career, I thought that I will work with Salman Khan."

Talking about her show in which she co-stars alongside Bilal Abbas Khan, Sarah stated, "I wanted my audience to see Abdullapur Ka Devdas and my portrayal of Gul Bano. It's an old-school love story set in modern times. It's about two people who fall in love through letters." She added, "Audiences in both India and Pakistan love beautiful love stories. We both love 'shayari' and a story of love rooted culturally,"

Shedding light on the reasons behind the popularity of Pakistani shows in India, Sarah offered, "These are stories that more or less are happening in our homes and in our neighbourhoods. So people from both countries can relate to it. Our actors are known for their natural acting, hence the audience feels connected to them."

She also highlighted the evolving landscape of Pakistani serials, noting a departure from traditional "hero-heroine centric plots." She shed light on the industry's shift towards narratives that go beyond mere love stories featuring attractive protagonists. According to her, contemporary Pakistani serials explore more diverse and nuanced storytelling, moving away from conventional tropes.

During her school days, Sarah aspired to be a singer. However, her journey into acting was serendipitous. While interacting with individuals from a local television network during the recording of one of her songs, she unexpectedly received an offer for her debut drama, Badi Appa. Initially taking the opportunity during school holidays, Sarah soon grasped the magnitude of the responsibility involved in acting.

Despite briefly distancing herself from acting, she found that no other pursuit brought her joy. This realisation solidified her desire to become an actor, and from that point on, there was no turning back for her.
