As the world continues to witness unceasing reports of Israeli brutality against Palestinians, Pakistani actor and model Armeena Rana Khan broke down into tears over the news of several premature babies being removed from the incubators after power supplies ran out at a hospital in Gaza.
Dozens of premature babies at Gaza’s Al Shifa Hospital were moved into an area that still had electricity after the power supply to the incubators was cut off, as doctors "tried everything they can to keep the babies alive" with basic medical care.
"That news about premature babies just wrecked me. My whole life has been turned upside down, it’s like I woke up one morning and started living my worst nightmare. I try to make the best of most days and help wherever I can but I’m beginning to lose hope in humanity," Armeena wrote on Instagram.
The post contained a video of the Janaan actor crying bitterly as she explained her ordeal being the mother of a "premature child".
"To know that those babies would just cry themselves into oblivion, there will be no one to listen to their cries or to come for them. It just breaks me as a human being," she said while sobbing.
She wrote that she had an emotional breakdown when she came across the news about the Palestinian babies.
The Bin Roye actor prayed for the babies and that may God protect them or "bring a miracle".
Without addressing anyone, Armeena called for "help" and "mercy" for the children in Palestine as they are innocent and have "done nothing wrong".
In the video, the actor wondered how the people go about their daily lives in Palestine amid the war and scarcity of almost every basic need.
