The electricity outages continue with at least seven-hour long duration in urban whereas nine-hour long in rural areas.

According to the National Transmission and Disptach Company (NTDC) sources, the electricity production stands at 9,560 Megawatt (MW) while the demand maintains at 12,900 MW therefore the shortfall is at least 3,340 MW.

The distribution companies are carrying out seven-hour long outages in urban while nine-hour long in rural areas. According to the sources, the outflow of water from major dams is less which is why the production of hydel electricity is 1,600 MW.

However, after the harvest season is over the hydel electricity production will increase.
