  • Pakistan‚ Afghanistan‚ Turkey agree to foster anti-terror cooperation

    Three-day trilateral summit concluded in Ankara city, Turkey where leaders of Pakistan‚ Turkey and Afghanistan agreed to continue joint efforts for the promotion of peace and regional stability.

    The three countries also agreed on intelligence sharing in order to enhance cooperation against terrorism, calling upon the international community for support in regional peace efforts and security issues.

    The summit was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif‚ Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, followed by a joint statement in which the three countries pledged to continue close consultations to support peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan.

    Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and sincere commitment for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned process.

    “Afghanistan today is at a defining moment in its history.  This is a time for all Afghans to come together, make peace and rebuild their country,” said the Prime Minister. He hoped that the Afghan people would overcome all the challenges with resilience and perseverance and Pakistan would continue to facilitate the peace process for a peaceful Afghanistan.
