Middle-order batsman Umar Akmal has again failed to clear the fitness test, a senior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official confirmed.

"Now the foreign coaches of the team are suggesting that the board should send him back to Pakistan," the PCB official said.

The team management has informed PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan about the suggestion "being made by coaches", he said, adding that the PCB chairman says "the board will decide the matter tomorrow [Monday]".

The PCB chairman also asked the team management to discuss the matter with Head Coach Mickey Arthur and Chief Selector Inzamam ul Haq.

Fitness test of the cricketers was held two days back in Birmingham. Umar Akmal had already been dropped from Pakistani squad for West Indies because of his poor fitness.

Last week, the PCB had imposed a fine, besides issuing a warning to Umar Akmal over misconduct during a domestic tournament last month.
