Former Twenty20 captain of Pakistan Shahid Afridi has said that playing farewell game is his right.
Afridi said that he represented Pakistan for 20 years and should be given a final match.
The former skipper said that he has discussed the matter with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan.
He added that he wants to retire with his bat raised high.
It should be noted that the prolific cricketer stepped down as Pakistan’s T20 skipper after the country’s horror show in this year’s Asia Cup and World Twenty20.
It was being rumored that Afridi will bid farewell to the shortest format of the game by playing his farewell match in the series against champions West Indies.
However, he was not picked in the side which whitewashed the reigning champions.
Pakistan will be touring New Zealand and Australia late this year but the team is not scheduled to play any Twenty20 games in the tour.
