A judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday dismissed a petition, seeking termination of Shaharyar M. Khan as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman for his approach over reviving bilateral series against India, for being not maintainable.

Justice Shahid Karim said the petition was not maintainable before the court and directed the petitioner to approach relevant forum for the required relief.

Mohammad Ali Gillani, the petitioner, had pleaded that Shaharyar as PCB chairman held talks with the BCCI on reviving bilateral cricket series, but in a disgraceful manner.

The petitioner further pleaded that PCB chairman did not take the government into confidence before initiating official correspondence with his counterparts (for the proposed cricket series), a stance the petitioner reckoned tarnished Pakistan’s image in the world.

Stating that the PCB chief seriously hurt emotions of the whole nation by holding dialogues for restoring the said series in a very requesting mode, the petitioner requested the court to remove Shaharyar from the post of PCB chairman. The request however was dismissed by the judge who declared the petition as not maintainable.
