  • 2nd T20: England beats Pakistan in thriller

    England defeated Pakistan by three runs in the second Twenty20 match against England at Dubai to clinch the series. England won the toss and chose to bat first.

    James Vince was the top scorer for England with 38 runs from 24 balls which included three fours and two sixes. Skipper Jos Buttler made 33 runs from 22 balls with the help of a boundary and three maximums.

    Opener Jason Roy contributed 29 runs from 22 balls while Joe Root made 20 runs from 16 deliveries.

    Shahid Afridi dismissed three English batsmen and Anwar Ali got three wickets. Sohail Tanvir, Wahab Riaz and Shoaib Malik also dismissed one England batsmen as well.

    Pakistan, chasing 173 runs to win, could manage 169/ 8 in their 20 overs.

    Ahmed Shehzad scored 28 runs with the help of two fours and two sixes whereas Shoaib Malik managed to score 26 runs which included a boundary and a six.

    Mohammad Hafeez made 25 runs which included three boundaries and a six while skipper Shahid Afridi, in a late cameo, contributed 24 runs with the help of a boundary and three sixes.

    Liam Plunkett took three wickets for England while Adil Rashid and Chris Woakes dismissed two green shirts batsmen. Stephen Parry also grabbed a wicket as well.
