  • Manor Marussia cleared to race after successful crash tests

Manor Marussia have been cleared to compete at the opening race of the Formula 1 season after passing mandatory crash tests on Thursday.

The team will travel to the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne next week with a modified version of their 2014 car.

They tweeted: "Well done team! That's it - we're all set for Melbourne."

Manor Marussia, who came out of administration last month, have named Englishman Will Stevens as one of their drivers for the forthcoming season.

The team, which missed the final three races of the 2014, will race with Ferrari engines this year.
