  • Targeted operation: 100 criminals arrested in Karachi

    An alleged member of the political parities was reportedly killed in an encounter between terrorists and the Rangers in Karachi.

    A large number of rangers came to the site and conducted the operation. Separately, Rangers claimed that they apprehended 63 alleged criminals including gangsters and criminals affiliated with political groups. According to a Rangers’ spokesperson, the arrests were made during targeted raids in Hazara Chowk, Memon Goth, Gulshan E Iqbal, Mehran Town, Gulshan E Zia, Behar Colony, Chakewra Musa Colony, Natha Khan Goth, Drug Road, Lyari General Hospital and Kalakot parts of the city.

    The spokesperson said the detained suspects were involved in heinous crimes and had in total yielded large number of weapons of different caliber, including sub machineguns (SMGs), rifles, hand grenades, mixed ammunition and a large quantity of narcotics were also seized from their possession.

    Meanwhile, District East police claimed that they apprehended 38 suspects found four pistols, one dagger and one stolen truck and two motor bikes.
