  • Self-exiled MQM leader is an absconder: Mustafa Kamal

Pak Sarzameen Party’s (PSP) Founder Mustafa Kamal, on Saturday, said that the self-exiled chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is an absconder. The former mayor of Karachi — who ended his association with MQM in a rather controversial way in March last year to form PSP Kamal alongside another former MQM leader Anis Kaimkhani — criticised MQM, claiming that his party played an important role in ‘curbing MQM’s role [in Karachi].’

He claimed that many members of other parties have joined the PSP, which is a sign of PSP’s ‘fast-paced progress.’ “We don’t change our stance every day [which is why political leaders want to join PSP],” he said. “I don’t have any office or position to give to those who are joining us.”

Lashing out at the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Kamal said that ‘the entire family of those calling us criminals have been declared the same.’ MQM-P leader Nadeem Razi, who is a member of the Sindh Assembly from Karachi's PS-121 constituency, joined PSP on Monday.

Addressing a press conference alongside PSP leaders Raza Haroon and Kaimkhani, Kamal urged other political leaders to join the PSP. He claimed that scores of MQM workers are joining the new political party every day.

A number of MQM MPAs have joined the party since its inception.
