Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter on Saturday to reprimand PPP MPA Imdad Pitafi for a derogatory remark made to Pakistan Muslim League-Functional's Nusrat Seher Abbasi in the Sindh Assembly on Friday.

Quoting a tweet by PPP worker Nafisa Shah, Bakhtawar said: "Yes [he] must apologise[.] absolutely unacceptable behaviour & totally against ethos of our party that has been led by the strongest of women PPP"

The unsavoury remarks were made when Abbasi put a question to Pitafi during assembly proceedings, who responded with an invitation to Abbasi to visit his chamber for what he called “a satisfactory reply”.

If that was not enough, television cameras also caught a UK-educated PPP lawmaker, Nawab Muhammad Taimur Talpur, taunting Ms Abbasi.

The remarks were followed by laughter from other ruling party members.

Sindh's chief minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, was in the house when the episode unfolded.
