    Doctors in Karachi boycotted outdoor patient departments (OPDs) in all private and government hospitals in protest against increasing incidents target killings and extortion in the megacity.

    The protest call was given by Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) which was backed by various organizations. PMA Secretary Dr Saqib Ansari vowed that doctors will protest every second day until their demands are met. During protest, doctors will only attend admitted patients and emergency units.

    As per details, 17 doctors were gunned down in 2014 in various areas of the metropolis whereas four doctors have been murdered this year. Reportedly, many of the doctors are receiving life threats from extortionists.
