  • Hyderabad: Altaf congratulates as foundation of university laid

    Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) London based chief Altaf Hussain on Friday congratulated the people of Hyderabad as the foundation stone of Altaf Hussain University was laid.

    The MQM leader lauded Bahria Town chairman Malik Riaz for this achievement. Hussain blessed Riaz calling him an angel sent by Allah. Hussain expressed his gratitude while addressing the event held for unveiling of the university.

    According to the details, MQM’s leader stated that he would like to thank the Bahria Town chairman from the depths of his heart on this momentous occasion. Hussain told the gathering that he had never met Malik Riaz in person.

    Hussain stated that he would also like to express his gratitude for the former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari for establishing the university.

    However, the MQM chief stated it would have been good if the establishment of the university had been announced during Zardari’s rule. Hussain said he wished that wrong people had not come between the two of them.

    MQM’s leader said that knowledge and education imparts humility and patience in a person. Education opens roads of success for a person. Hussain said that countries who acquired knowledge and education have now become superpowers.

    However, he stated that our nation even after 68 years is still wandering around with a bowl in our hands. Hussain said that admissions would be given not only to Altaf Hussain’s relatives but instead will be based on merit.

    The chairman of Bahria Town and Governor Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad on Friday laid the foundation for Altaf Hussain Universiy (AHU) in Hyderabad.

    Bahria Town’s chairman said that starting the project of a university in Hyderabad was no less than a miracle. Riaz stated that he has a strong desire to spread the light of knowledge in very corner of the country.

    Mailk Riaz also stated that he had no intention of joining politics, but hopes to be remembered for offering services to the society.

    Bahria Town’s chairman stated that the former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari had suggested him to establish a university in the name of Mutahhidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain. He said Zardari had even announced free allotment of land for the university he.

    However, Riaz stated that the price for the allotted land had been fully paid by Bahria Town.

    Malik Riaz informed that the Altaf Hussain University would be established on 80 acres of land. A total expense of Rs 2 billion is expected for the establishment of the university. The construction of the university would take 2 years to complete.

    Riaz informed that the university’s architectural map was formulated by Nayyar Ali Dada while Najeeb Haroon was the designated contractor for the construction of the university.

    Malik Riaz also briefed that scholarships would be offered to students of AHU. He stated that the university would be open for education to students of all languages and religions. The fee for this university would be less as compared to other universities. Bahria Town’s chairman expressed that only through service to humanity we can please Allah.

    Governor Sindh Ishrat-ul-Ibad on this occasion stated that establishing a university in Hyderabad had always been the dream of the MQM chief. This dream became a reality today he stated.

    The Governor Sindh said that Hussain has always been passionate about knowledge and has always talked about promoting knowledge. Ishrat-ul-Ibad stated that this was because the MQM chief was not only a politician but a philosopher and a teacher as well.

    The Governor Sindh stated that he was highly indebted to Asif Ali Zardari and Malik Riaz for their immense support for establishing a university in Hyderabad.

    The Sindh Governor also expressed that he was highly indebted that the Bahria Town chairman had accepted the request for establishing a university in Nawabshah in the name of Benazir Bhutto.
