The Legal Aid Society (LAS) in Hyderabad recently conducted a specialized program on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) exclusively for the Christian community at Hur Camp Taluka Qasimabad. The primary objective was to promote peaceful resolutions to conflicts. The event attracted a considerable number of participants from the community.

ADR refers to various methods of resolving disputes without resorting to a trial. These processes, such as mediation, arbitration, and neutral evaluation, are generally more confidential, informal, and less stressful compared to traditional court proceedings.

The informative session commenced with Zahid Ali Messo, the LAS district field officer, who provided valuable insights into the organization's mission and objectives. He also explained the definition of ADR and its different processes. Zahid expressed his appreciation for the Christian community's active participation, reaffirming LAS's commitment to promoting alternative dispute resolution as a powerful means to foster harmony and resolution within communities.

Senior Advocate Sumreen Ali enriched the participants' understanding of ADR processes by sharing valuable insights into the Salis members and detailing the mediation process, highlighting its numerous benefits in efficiently and effectively resolving conflicts.

Maheen Nazeer Memon and Amima Memon, Street Law Change Maker's Students, also contributed to the event by emphasizing the crucial roles played by provincial and Federal Ombudsman in dispute resolution.

The LAS team was delighted by the warm reception from the Christian community and was grateful for the traditional Ajrak Gifts presented in gratitude. They expressed their gratitude to the community for their enthusiastic engagement and support during this impactful session. The event concluded with a vote of thanks expressed by Mr Tariq Bhatti, the founder of the First Real Life Foundation and a prominent community focal person.

The Legal Aid Society is a non-governmental organization dedicated to ensuring access to justice and legal representation for underprivileged individuals and communities. Through their ADR project, they aim to promote the use of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to peacefully resolve conflicts.
