Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday shared grief with the victims of a deadly Lahore blast.
At least 25 people mostly policemen were killed and scores of others were wounded when a bomb went off near Arifa Kareem Tower in Lahore.
The nature of the blast could not be determined yet.
According to preliminary investigations, policemen deployed to clear street vendors were the prime target.
In a statement, DG ISPR Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor said that army chief has directed for immediate rescue and relief efforts.
Troops, he said, have reached the blast site to carry out the rescue efforts.
