Chaos ensued in the Lahore High Court on Saturday morning over a convention related to the Panama Leaks case.

Groups of lawyers, allegedly affiliated with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami, clashed with each other after the opposition parties'-affiliated lawyers plan to hold a convention on the Panama Leaks case, which was scheduled to start at 9am.

Lawyers affiliated with the opposition parties wanted the convention to be held and started chanting slogans against the ruling party when they were reportedly not allowed to do so.

During the ruckus, some lawyers also broke the glass windows of the venue of the convention and thrashed the arrangements. Others continued to chant slogans against the convention.

The leadership of the Lahore High Court Bar Association is holding talks between the opposing groups to ensure that the convention can be held.

Following the chaos, a heavy contingent of police also reached the high court.
